If you would like to place yourself on a waiting list please contact finance@wslsa.com.au before 10pm Monday 23 September with name, contact details and student ID. We might have the opportunity to open up more seating via Doltone house, though this is very much dependant on the number of people requesting to be placed on a waiting list.

The Western Sydney Law Students' Association Inc sponsored by College of Law cordially invites you and one guest to the biggest event of the social calendar, held at the truly grand Doltone House Hyde Park Ballroom.

On arrival indulge in Doltone House selected Canapes and then prepare to treat yourself to a 3-course meal prepared specially by Doltone House's in-house chefs, complete with a luxurious dessert served alongside beer, wine (incl. red, white, sparkling) or champagne.*

Dinner is accompanied by a speech from our guest speaker, whose ranks have included Justice Brereton of the Supreme Court, Deng Adut and Justice Beazley (President, Court of Appeal). Are speeches not your thing? Fear not; we've got fancy teas and coffee on hand to perk you up!

Afterwards, why not party it up on the dance floor with music by our professional DJ - or hit the photo booth with friends. And guess what? Alumni are welcome too; so call up all your old friends and tell them about the event that they can't afford to miss!

Afterparty (at a choice of one or more venues) to be advised

But hurry – we've only enough seats for 1 in 5 law students!

FAQ & Further Notes:

  • There is only (two guests) allowed per student and those guests do not have to be law students or even attend any university.
  • Please fill out your student details and guest details fully (including your student ID) so that we can sit you together when allocating table seating.

    • Women: Formal Long Gown, Formal & Sophisticated Cocktail, or Stylish Evening Suit/Separates
    • See notes below for further guides
  • There are only a limited number of 'table' tickets available for law firms, sponsors, and academics only, please contact finance@wslsa.com.au for more details and to order.
  • The validated parking MUST be validated on the evening of the ball by Doltone House staff otherwise full parking rates will apply.
  • Due to alcohol being served this is an 18yrs and over only event.
  • For the Guys Specifically: Please be aware that the ball is absolutely a black tie event. No light or mixed colour suits (blazers etc) will be allowed, neither will jeans. Tuxedoes are cheap to rent and there are a few stores offering cheap ones to purchase. Alternatively, you should already have a dark suit since are required to dress appropriately for class moots, Viva Voce's, networking events etc. Then all you require is the black tie or bowtie. If you have any reasonable hardship issues for why you cannot do this please contact finance@wslsa.com.au.
  • For the Ladies: It's your night to shine by being glamorous and sophisticated by wearing a formal floor length gown, a formal (conservative) cocktail dress or even a sophisticated and stylish evening suit. For the best choices and guide you cannot go wrong if you stick with what either this blog via David Jones or this one via The Trendsetter blog say (especially on the Do's and Don'ts).
